Sunday sides
Non-boring veg recipes for your Sunday roasts including *crispy sage & hazelnut cauliflower cheese*
I’ve loved seeing so many of you make the chicken soup from this recent *feel good* newsletter. If you haven’t given it a go yet, please do! Speaking of past newsletters, at the weekend I made another big batch of this squash, chickpea and cavolo nero curry with the squash that came in our veg box. It’s powered us through the week and there are a few portions in the freezer too which I know will be a godsend as we run into the craziness of December.
With leaves all over the ground and a drop in the temperature, cosy Sunday lunches are back in full swing. Whether you eat meat or not, the veg on a Sunday table deserves just as much fanfare as the “main event”, whatever that may be. I’m not talking about fussy cooking here, that’s really not my bag and certainly not on a Sunday when I want to be stepping it out around the beautiful heath or curled up on the sofa with Summer, Nelly and a good film. I’m talking about making your veggie sides shine in all their glory with minimal work, maximum Sunday pleasure. So here is a round up of my favourite veggie recipes that would work well with a roast, including your brand new and exclusive recipe for crispy sage and hazelnut cauliflower cheese.
