Halloween is nearly upon us and to celebrate I’ve got BOTH tricks and treats for you. Treats in the form of two brand new fun Halloween recipes, one of which involves halloumi and the other involves chocolate. Need I say more?! Scroll down for the recipes.
As for the tricks… we’re in the process of moving house so I’m on a mission to clear out my cupboards. If you’re also on the move or simply looking to give your cupboards an Autumn clean here are a handful of tricks that I hope you may find helpful.
But before we get into the tricks and treats, here are five things I’m loving this month:
We’re in the process of renovating and moving house and Nelly’s back and forth at the vets. So life is pretty hectic and allplants chef-prepared meals have been our saving grace! I especially loved the protein power bowl which contains over 15 different plants. If you’d like to give allplants a go, use MELISSA45 for 45% off your first order.
As I’ve been packing up our kitchen I want to shout out my amazing Kilner storage containers (like these ones and these ones) that are packed with nuts, seeds, lentils etc. For more of my kitchen storage favourites, check out my list here.
I first bought one of Angela Burrett’s blankets from a Saturday fair in Cornwall three years ago and have been buying them as gifts for friends and their kids ever since. Angie very kindly made a special blanket for Summer when she was born and we love it so much.
It’s the season for hot chocolate, chai, mulled wine and soups so if you haven’t already invested in a great forever flask, I really like Chilly’s bottles, Thermos and Bottle Cup.
I always look out for Fairtrade labelled chocolate (like this and this) in the independents and supermarkets alike. It’s a great way to identify brands that are socially responsible and care about their farmers and supply chain. I love Islands Chocolate hazelnut spread and if you can’t make it to their bakery in Suffolk then Pump Street croissant chocolate is worth an order.
